Fall

Autumn Leaves

The liquid amber trees in our yard inspired me to create these delicate, multi-colored Autumn Leaves. I can testify to the fact that when it comes to leaves...baking them is more satisfying than raking them.

Chocolate Sandwich Cookies

Maple, oak, sweetgum, all kinds of leaves — and pumpkins — are colorful inspiration for cookies during the Fall. When they’re turned into dark chocolate sandwich cookies, they make delicious treats to accompany the change in seasons.

Fall Leaves & Pumpkins

These beautiful cookies are covered in a colorful vanilla-bean glaze, which gives them their shiny coat. The Soft Cutout Cookie makes these a welcome addition to a lunch box or my afternoon tea break.

The Mighty Acorn Cookie

Acorn-shaped sugar cookies have become a welcome addition to my list of Fall decorated cookies. The vanilla-flavored Classic Sugar Cookie pairs so well with Chocolate Royal Icing. And adding chocolate jimmies to the “caps” finishes everything off beautifully.

Chocolate-Filled Jack-O’-Lanterns

These irresistible chocolate-filled sandwich cookies are shaped like Jack-o’-lanterns and pack a lot of warm spices into a small bite. The flavors are the perfect beginning to the Fall cookie season.

Día de los Muertos

The intricate designs associated with “El Día de los Muertos” are the perfect inspiration for seasonal cutout cookies. I love decorating cookies to pay tribute to this now-famous Mexican Holiday to honor the dead.

Halloween Sandwich Cookies

A few bites of these chocolate sandwich cookies will help you cope with all the goblins and ghosties at the door. Add a glass of milk and you have the most delicious treat you’ll get all night.

Thanksgiving Turkeys

The Fall weather makes me excited to bake all the cookies associated with this time of year...leaves and pumpkins, ghosts and black cats...but let’s not forget turkey cookies!

Almond Cinnamon Cookies

Sometimes a simple cookie is exactly what you want. See my section on “Kissing Cousins” for a variety of cookies that I love to make once I feel a chill in the air and notice that the leaves are beginning to change color.

French Breakfast Puffs

French Breakfast Puffs taste like the best cake doughnut you’ve ever eaten and make a wonderful breakfast or late-night snack. I gladly share my recipe, too! [Kasha’s Recipes]

Autumn Desserts

Once Fall arrives, I’m in the mood for desserts containing all those delicious autumn spices, like cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. This Gingerbread bundt cake contains all these spices and can be made fancy or simple.
